To Health Care and Other Professionals:
Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is an association of recovering alcoholics dedicated to helping other alcoholics remain sober. It gives no medical advice or care but works in cooperation with medical professionals. Patients can be referred to AA by encouraging them to attend a local meeting.
AA newcomers attend meetings to discuss common problems and solutions with other members and work through a 12-step program to achieve sobriety and peace of mind. Much of our recovery is through helping others. More information is available in the attached pamphlets or from the local AA Intergroup. (Northwest Piedmont Intergroup)
